Shen Yun's all-new "Learn" section

Since its inception more than five years ago, Shen Yun Performing Arts has done more to promote traditional Chinese culture than any other performance company in the world. Today, we continue on this path by releasing the “Learn” section on our website.

With over 100 articles and photos, the Learn section systematically provides cultural context and historical background to the many aspects of a Shen Yun Performance. From the essence of Chinese dance, to the uniqueness of Chinese folk instruments, from the pristine natural landscapes created by our digital backdrops, to the intricate and meticulously researched costumes—all the facets of a Shen Yun performance are now accessible to everyone.

For western audiences less familiar with Chinese history, we provide an essential overview of the dynasties and many important literary and historical figures who have appeared in our performances. If there is any aspect of Shen Yun that seems particularly foreign or confusing, Learn can help you untangle any questions. We invite you to take a moment to browse and immerse yourself in the divinely inspired masterpiece that is 5,000 years of Chinese civilization.
